A look back at historic Brentwood, TN
This story was originally published by Brentwood Homepage
Yesterday, Brentwood Home Page reported that Williamson, Inc., discovered in its archives various artifacts from Brentwood’s early years, which the chamber hopes to donate to the city.
Included in those items is a video entitled The Horse and It’s Heritage in Tennessee, produced by Maryland Farms and narrated by J. Truman Ward.
Ward owned Maryland Farms before it was developed into an office park, when the property was mostly farmland and a horse track.
The video is a combination of a sales video for his farm, as well as a historic depiction of several other farms in the area.
Also shown in the video is American Ace, the famous American Standardbred horse owned by Ward. American Ace is buried near the horse barn/office off of Ward Circle.
Note: There are minor start and stops in the video. The total running time nears 15 minutes.
